Eric Long

Music and Voice Instructor

Eric is a lifelong lover of music and the awakening of the human psyche that it can inspire. His musical journey began in childhood, performing songs on stage at camp and taking piano lessons between the ages of seven and ten. In fifth grade, he picked up the saxophone and continued developing his musicianship throughout high school, performing in symphonic band, wind ensemble, jazz band, and various orchestral ensembles.

At age fifteen, he taught himself to play guitar and soon began teaching private lessons at Joyful Noise Music Studio. Over more than a decade at the studio, he instructed students in piano, guitar, voice, ukulele, saxophone, and bass guitar. During his senior year of high school, he studied Music Technology, where he gained experience with digital audio workstations (DAWs), music production, and composition.

Following high school, he attended Oakland University as a Vocal Performance major. There, he studied vocal techniques under Jean Paul White, performed with the University Chorus under Mike Mitchell, and pursued jazz vocal studies with Carl Cafagna.

Since the age of fifteen, he has been actively performing both as a solo artist and with bands. Today, he leads a successful cover band that performs throughout the state of Michigan. With extensive experience performing at weddings, private events, and venues across the region, he has built a reputation as a versatile musician and entertainer.

Music remains both his passion and his calling. He takes great pride in sharing his knowledge and experience with the next generation of musicians, helping students develop not only their musical abilities but also the confidence, discipline, and life skills that come through the study and performance of music.
